The White Crow Album Launch and Signing Ceremony
March 9, 2018
One of the speakers at the event described Daal’s second album as more thoughtful, fluid, and carefully structured:
“Listeners should pay close attention to how much effort Daal has made to elevate its audience through this album. I strongly encourage the band’s fans to focus on its compositions. These songs are not merely pleasant melodies designed to create a good feeling; they have been crafted with precision and thought. Give the album time to find its place in your heart. I believe it will ultimately have an even greater impact than the band’s debut album.”
Faravaz Farvardin, the guest vocalist on The Silent Half, said:
“I believe older works have endured because the people involved in creating them were friends and the music grew out of genuine emotions shared by the singer and the poet. After a long time, Daal has formed a band whose members are truly good friends. We should also remember that integrity and commitment are what make music last.”
We Are Fortunate to Have Daal Band
Nima Javan, director of Javan Publishing and Distribution and publisher of Daal’s Walk of Ordibehesht, said:
“When Shayan Shekarabi, Daal Band’s leader, asked me to speak at this event, it was not a difficult task. Talking about Daal means talking about goodness, and that is easy. Daal’s music can become part of the most private moments of your life—music you can truly live with.”
Yazdan Bahmani, a member of Daal Band, thanked the audience for its support:
“Your support gives us the strength to continue along this difficult path. I hope this support extends to the entire music community. I personally believe that a society with music is a society with less anger.”
Daal’s vocalist, Amin Hedayati, added:
“I am delighted that, after so many difficulties, we have finally reached this moment of meeting. For every one of us, the sweetest experience is seeing one another in person, stepping away from the virtual world, and speaking face-to-face.”
Milad Saadi also expressed his gratitude:
“Considering the time of year in which this event is being held, I would like to thank our mothers, whose support helped us reach this point.”
Farshad Rezaei thanked the audience for attending and said:
“I hope the result of our collective effort finds its way into your hearts. If it does, all our exhaustion will disappear.”
Arash Azar added:
“Everyone experiences a turning point in life. For me, that turning point was meeting Daal Band. I am grateful to have shared some of the most important moments of my life with them.”
A Different Listening Experience
Music critic and journalist Amir Bahari said:
“When artists achieve success, they often try to repeat the same formula in their next work. Daal Band has avoided doing that and has chosen to move forward. This also requires the audience to move forward with the band and respect its artistic development.”
He continued:
“The White Crow is a concept album that follows a narrative. Listening to it may therefore offer a different kind of pleasure. Allow yourself to follow the album’s journey. Value this band: its members produce their own work and carefully refine it artistically.”
Bahari also praised the album’s restrained use of percussion:
“It takes a deep musical understanding to have two highly accomplished percussionists in a band while using percussion so minimally. Purchasing an original copy of the album is the simplest way to respect the group’s efforts. I know you will do so, and I ask you to encourage your friends to do the same.”
The ceremony also featured several live musical performances and screenings of music videos by Daal Band.
